So I've been promising this for a while and I hope it is up to your expectations. This is not a WIP, I like the unfinished look of the hair.
I used a reference : [link] It was cropped in photoshop and then "autocontrasted". This was so much fun to draw I think I may sketch him some more.

I definitely see Johnny in there... but just a couple of crits. He's got some really puckered lips, I think if you paid close attention to the shadows around the bottom and between his lips, you could get that look a little better. And in your pic his eyes are kinda off a little. I think if you moved his left pupil over to our left a tad, it'd straighten that out. Its a good start. I'd definitely like to see this finished!

But thanks for the advice...its just a sketch and I'll probably do a thousand more johnny depp sketches as he is very fun to draw. but OH I am so bad with lips...I thought it was just hugo but I'm back with Johnny's lips too! I need to do some studies!

Ah, damnit... okie, i'm not good at spelling and evidently I can't read either! :doh: Heh... I luv ya, Jude... you know that. I'm sorry about not reading it carefully. Just trying to be helpful. And you're welcome. God, yeah... lips are the hardest things to do. I think i've got Hugo's down. Lord knows I draw them enough! *laughs*

Awesome work, I really dig the shading of his cheek bones, and the work with the eyes, there's no mistaking that it's him.

yup this is Johnny... the only thing i would fix is the bottom lip
i hate doing lips... i suck at them lol but this is very good you can tell its Johnny
